In 2022, Sovgavan Terminal will carry out a complex of works to adapt berths and power lines for modern transshipment equipment, as well as prepare platforms for receiving and storing containerized cargo with a capacity of at least 600 TEU.
In 2022, as part of the modernization program, a set of measures was implemented to prepare the terminal for receiving new transshipment equipment, and in the first quarter of 2023, the terminal received two new mobile port cranes with a lifting capacity of 84 tons each at berth No. 2. Today, the terminal is capable of handling a wide range of cargo, including general cargo, ISO containers, specialized tracked and wheeled vehicles, bulk, bulk and other types of cargo.

Berths

The berths of Terminal Sovgavan LLC were built in 1993–1997 and have a total length of 300 m. The berths are anchored bulwarks made of Larsen V sheet piles.

Berth parameters:

  • Berth No. 1–164 m.
  • Berth No. 2–136 m.
  • The greatest length of the vessel is 177.2 m.
  • The maximum draft at the berth with full load is 8.7 m.
  • The maximum deadweight of the vessel is 26,000 tons.

Railway tracks

Terminal Sovgavan LLC owns a private  railway track. The total length of the track is 1128 m. Cargo might be unload on six cargo fronts with a total front length of 816.5 m. The total track capacity is 41 units.

The terminal is capable of handling cargo arriving on the following a railway freight wagons:

  • Gondola wagons
  • Box wagons
  • Universal platforms
  • Container platforms

Cargo arrives to seaport from the Sovetskaya Gavan — Gorod station. The supply/removal of freight wagons on private tracks is carried out by a shunting diesel locomotive of the RZD TEM18DM series.

Acceptance operations are carried out directly at the loading/unloading place.

Warehouse areas

The warehouse facilities of  Terminal Sovgavan LLC are represented by open cargo areas located throughout the territory free from buildings and technological operational zones, with a hard surface.
